Rwanda’s Rally Mistress Queen Kalimpinya Set to Shine at Champions Sprint Finale

The Uganda rally calendar is set to end with a bang as Rwanda’s rally sensation, Queen Kalimpinya, gears up to compete in the grand finale dubbed the Champions Sprint. The event, scheduled for 26th December 2024 will be held at Busiika Sports Arena and promises to be action-packed Boxing Day for motorsport lovers.
Kalimpinya, is a superstar in Rwandan motorsport and the country’s sole active female rally driver, is no stranger to the rally scene. Co-driven by Olivier Ngabo, she has been inspiring a new generation of motorsport fans back home. The duo typically commands their trusty Subaru Impreza GC8, but for this event, they will be piloting a Subaru Impreza GVB, adding a touch of local flavor to their competitive edge.
This marks Kalimpinya’s first foray outside Rwandan soil, and she is relishing the opportunity to test her skills against Uganda’s top drivers. Speaking ahead of the event, she expressed her gratitude and excitement about the invitation.
“I’m thrilled to participate in this prestigious event. It’s a privilege to be part of Uganda’s motorsport finale, and I promise to give the home boys a run for their money!” she said with a confident smile.
The Champions Sprint is expected to attract rally crews from across East Africa, with entries from Kenya, Tanzania, and the host nation, Uganda. The event is renowned for its fast-paced sprints, technical challenges, and electrifying atmosphere, making it a must-attend for motorsport fans.
