TT Drag & Drift Heed the Flag 2025 Officially Launched in Jinja

By Mwambazi Lawrence
If you’ve ever leaned on a fender, shades on, chewing on a toothpick like it owes you money, and watched a car slide through a hairpin yelling, “Pfft… child’s play I could drift that in my sleep,” guess what? Time to put your money where your over-revving mouth is! TT Drag & Drift: Heed the Flag 2025 just dropped like a clutch kick at corner entry and it’s wilder than a boda guy on a wet roundabout. We’re talkin’ tire smoke, rev limiters screaming louder than your ex, and sideways action so nasty it needs a PG-13 sticker, It’s not just a drift fest it’s a flaming salute to one of motorsport’s fallen legends, and trust us, they’d want you to send it like rent’s due tomorrow. So fire up that engine, kiss your tires goodbye, and remember if you’re not sideways, you’re just out here blocking traffic.

Hosted by the daredevils at MPU Club, this three-day rubber-melting extravaganza is about to turn Banana Resort Beach, Jinja, into a festival of noise, smoke, and sideways dreams from 13th to 15th June. The program is so power-packed, it should come with a seatbelt warning drag races that could wake the ancestors and drift battles that’ll have your eyebrows doing donuts. And yes, it’s all happening in a fully gazetted, FMU-approved arena because apparently, you can’t just slide around public parking lots yelling, “I’m a professional!” This event isn’t just about speed and style it’s a glorious, screeching, tire-sacrificing movement to give drifters a safe, legal space to get ridiculous behind the wheel. So bring your earplugs, your best “I meant to do that” face, and prepare to witness vehicles doing things they were probably never designed to do.

The event also carries a somber but honorable twist it’ll be held in remembrance of foreign rally driver Rajiv Ruparelia, who tragically took his final lap far too soon. But make no mistake this isn’t just a pit stop for grief. Rajiv’s memory will be the high-octane fuel behind the weekend’s unity, adrenaline, and good-natured rubber abuse. It’s a celebration of speed, skill, and that unspoken gearhead bond that says, “We may be sideways, but we’re all in this together.” So as the engines roar and the smoke rises, know that every drift, every cheer, and every overcooked corner is a tribute to a fellow racer who lived life in the fast lane.

TT Drag & Drift 2025 is already revving up with a regional showdown hotter than a turbo at full boost! Competitors from Kenya and Tanzania have thrown their helmets into the ring, ready to bring the smoke, sass, and sideways glory. But they’ve got a problem Uganda’s top guns aren’t just polishing trophies, they’re polishing their game faces. Leading the home team charge is none other than last year’s champion, Yusuf Sengendo, who’s not about to let anyone cross the border and leave with his crown. He’s fired up, flagged in, and fully focused on keeping that title parked right here in Uganda where it belongs

Among the big names revving up for the showdown are:
- Yassin “The Transporter”, set to unleash his Toyota Celica in a performance that promises flair and fire.
- Zaga, whose choice of weapon a sleek Mitsubishi Evo X has already turned heads in previous events and is expected to be a crowd favorite once again. And many others
From tire-shredding drifts to head-to-head drag duels, TT Drag & Drift 2025 is not just an event it’s a motorsport spectacle, a test of bravery, skill, and engine power.

So, to all the spectators, dreamers, and drivers who think they’ve got what it takes heed therules, take the flag, and let the engines roar. Jinja is about to burn rubber, and you won’t want to miss a second of it.
