The motorsport spotlight shifts to Arusha this weekend as the highly anticipated Guru Nanak Rally 2024 gears up to be the grand finale of the Tanzania National Rally Championship. Scheduled for November 16th and 17th, this two-day, 150-kilometer showdown promises to be an adrenaline-packed spectacle, with fierce competition from top drivers representing Tanzania, Uganda, and Kenya.
Uganda’s top crew of Yasin Nasser and Ali Katumba is ready to make a statement, piloting their powerful Ford Fiesta R5. Adding to the excitement is Kenya’s national rally champion, Jasmeet Chana, who, alongside his brother and co-driver Ravi Chana, will be showcasing their new Ford Fiesta R5. The Chana brothers are making waves on the regional rally scene, and this rally will be a test of their mettle on foreign soil. Kenyan rallying legend Ian Duncan, paired with Jaspal Matharu in a Nissan Pickup, is another star attraction. Tanzania isn’t about to let the visitors have all the fun. Randeep Singh and his co-driver Manmeet Singh Birdi are rolling in with their Mitsubishi Evo 9. This pairing brings a blend of speed and rallying wisdom, making them a formidable force capable of upsetting the leaderboard. Speedster Ahmed Huwel, with his co-driver Rahim Suleiman in a Ford Fiesta Proto, is ready to put on a show. Rumor has it Huwel has been practicing his victory speech in front of a mirror all week. Huwel’s explosive acceleration and daring maneuvers will push his proto and his competitors to the limit.
Manveer Birdi and Zubyr Piradina, also in a Mitsubishi Evo 9, will add to the intensity of the competition. and after a disappointing outing in Rwanda, Prince Nyerere and co-driver Karim Munisi will be back in the cockpit, determined to bounce back with a strong performance.

The event also feature a host of other competitive entries, promising a thrilling battle from start to finish. Shanto Nahdi, in a Ford Fiesta Proto, is poised to shake up the leaderboard with his aggressive driving style. Rajpal Singh Dhani, teaming up with Victor Jackson in a Subaru Impreza GVB15, is set to be another crowd favorite, known for their no-nonsense approach to rallying.

Adding to the excitement is the Amapiano Rally Team’s crew of Ethan Taylor and Ibrahim Sulemani in a Subaru Impreza GC8, a pairing known for their high-speed exploits. Joining them is Hamid Mbatta, also in a Subaru Impreza GC8, ready to disrupt the order with his competitive spirit and skillful handling of the car.
