Aine Sodo Returns with Fresh Power in CMC Independence Rally
By Mwambazi Lawrence
Aine Sodo is set to make a much-anticipated comeback to the racing scene in theCMC Independence Rally, scheduled for next weekend in Gulu. The rally marks his return after a break, and he will be taking on the challenging gravel in his newly acquired Mitsubishi Evo X, sourced from Poland. The car has already arrived in Uganda and is ready to roar on rally day.
Sodo will be joined by co-driver Derick Lubambula, and together they are gearing up to shake off the rust after being out of the cockpit for an extended period. This rally serves as a warm-up for their bigger plans as they prepare for the 2025 season.
The last time fans saw Sodo in action was during the CMC Kaliro Sugar Rally in 2022, where he piloted a Mitsubishi Evo 9. Unfortunately, his rally came to a premature end following a heavy roll that forced him into a hiatus. Now, with the more powerful Evo X at his disposal, Sodo is ready to return to the competitive stages and make his presence felt once again.
The CMC Independence Rally is expected to bring fierce competition, and Sodo’s return adds extra excitement to the lineup. Fans and fellow drivers will be watching closely to see how he and Lubambula perform as they aim to get back into the rally groove.
