Yassin Nasser to Represent Uganda in Eldoret Kenya

Eldoret, Kenya – Yassin Nasser, the reigning Uganda National Rally Champion of 2023, is set to ignite the tracks at the opening round of the Kenya National Rally Championship this weekend in Eldoret. Partnered with experienced navigator Joseph Kamya, Nasser will maneuver the challenging course in a Ford Fiesta R5 mk2, adorned in the vibrant colors of Moil Energies.

Nasser’s decision to bypass the opening round in Mbarara last weekend in favor of Kenya has set the stage for an exhilarating showdown. The rally will feature nine other competitive crews, including renowned names such as Ian Duncan, who will navigate his Nissan Patrol alongside Jaspal Matharu. Additionally, Jasmeet Chana, the 2023 Kenyan Group N champion, will drive his Mitsubishi Evox, co-piloted by his brother Ravi Chana, as they gear up for a potential upgrade to a Rally 3 car ahead of the WRC Safari Rally 2024, with the specific car yet to be revealed.

Samman Vohla will also join the fray, piloting a Skoda Fabia R5 alongside navigator Alkif Khan.
The challenging rally course spans 298.41 kilometers, with 139.92 kilometers designated as competitive sections. Among the highlights are the Saladin stage, stretching over 35.20 kilometers and to be run twice, and the Burgar stage, covering 17.14 kilometers and to be navigated three times. The opening stage, Kaptagat, will span 18.10 kilometers and will set the tone for the thrilling competition.
