Hassan Alwi Jr & Musa Nsubuga Clinch Final Autocross Victory in Kitigoma

The 2025 National Autocross Championship season came to a close yesterday in Kitigoma, Jinja, as Hassan Alwi Jr and co-driver Musa Nsubuga powered their Ford Fiesta Proto to a commanding victory in the final round organized by MOSAC Club.
The crew set the tone early, winning the first run of the day. Under a blazing sun and choking plumes of dust, Alwi and Nsubuga kept their cool, delivering a clean, calculated performance to seal the event in 7:11.1, securing a well-deserved win.
Finishing second was the crew of Umar Dauda, co-driven by Steven Bunya, in a Mitsubishi Evo X. After claiming the second run, Dauda pushed hard in pursuit of the top spot, but fell short by just 7.9 seconds, ending the day with a total time of 7:19.1 a strong performance that kept the pressure alive until the final moment.
Completing the podium in the Open Class were Edson Mungyereza and James Emaru in their Subaru Impreza GVB. The crew showcased consistency across both runs, clocking a cumulative time of 7:30.2, enough to secure third place against a competitive field.
In the Cadet Class, rising talent stole the spotlight. Serunjogi Ronald, co-driven by Mpendo Peter, stunned fans by winning their category in a Subaru Impreza with a total time of 8:43.1 an incredible result for their first-ever competitive outing.

Second place went to Ian Bachu and Yusuf Babu in a Subaru Impreza N10. Despite battling a broken drive shaft, the pair delivered a gutsy performance, finishing in 8:47.1. The podium was rounded off by Denis Tibenda and Isaac Lumu in a Subaru Impreza N8, who brought their car home in 9:06.0, securing third position.
