So I hear you’ve missed him? Well, guess what  he’s missed himself too! Yes, ladies and gentlemen, You know how every family has that one uncle who disappears for years, then shows up out of nowhere looking rich, loud, and mysterious? Well, Umar Dauda is that uncle — but in rally form.

Yes, he’s back! And no, this isn’t a rumor, It’s real. Umar Dauda, the man, the myth, the throttle-wielding legend, is officially relaunching his rally career He’s back with vengeance in his throttle foot, fire in his heart, and zero tolerance for half-baked pace notes. This time, he’s not dragging along his old faithful Evo 6 (may it rest in garage peace)  he’s now upgraded to the almighty Mitsubishi Evo X. That’s right. Ten. As in “turn it up to ten and leave the rest in your dust.”

If you were around when Umar was making noise in his Evo 6, you know what time it is. The man used to terrorize the top dogs like a mosquito in a honeymoon suite. He didn’t need big sponsors or shiny trailers  just fuel, fire, and a navigator who held on for dear life.

But let’s not get emotional. This is 2025, and rally isn’t waiting for anyone. The Bugerere Stabex EMC Rally is locked and loaded for July 10th to 12th, and Umar is pulling up like a man who forgot nothing and forgave no one but one thing hasn’t changed: the fans still remember the man who made Evo 6 look like a Ferrari on safari

And just when you thought one comeback story was enough  enter Hassan Alwi Jr. A man who returns with a Ford Fiesta Proto so fast it should come with a warning label: “May cause heart palpitations in spectators.”

So what do we have now? Two prodigal sons. Two machines that snarl . Jinja and Bugerere  are about to witness a rally that looks like Fast & Furious: Village Edition. Two comeback kings. Two monster machines. One track. And about 10,000 fans ready to scream themselves hoarse and blame it on the dust.
