Ugandan rally driver Umar Daudi has secured a major sponsorship boost after signing a partnership with Crown Beverages, through its high-energy Sting Energy Drink brand, for the remainder of the 2026 National Rally Championship season and if rally drivers have ever needed an excuse to step on the accelerator, Daudi now has one served in a bottle. The Sting boys have joined the pit wall meaning the pressure is now officially carbonated.

The deal comes at a crucial stage of the championship, with four rounds still remaining and Daudi looking to turn the fresh backing into stronger performances as the season enters its decisive stretch.

For a rally driver, horsepower is only part of the equation. There is also preparation, determination, teamwork and, perhaps most importantly, the support needed to keep the machine firing on all cylinders. Daudi believes the Sting partnership could provide exactly that extra push after all the engine may be drinking fuel, the tyres are drinking punishment then the driver has Sting.

“I want my actions to speak more than my words. The support from Sting gives me more reason to push harder and give our fans something to celebrate,” Daudi said.

Although the financial details of the agreement have not been disclosed, the partnership represents a significant vote of confidence in Daudi and his motorsport ambitions. With the championship battle heading into its final four rounds, the driver will now be under pressure to ensure that the Sting colours are not just visible in the service park, but are also seen fighting at the sharp end of the results.

Daudi is clearly aware that sponsorship comes with expectations. The rally car may be his weapon of choice, but the real answer will come when the helmet goes on, the countdown reaches zero and the first stage comes alive. That is when all the big talk disappears and the co-driver starts reading notes at a speed that makes ordinary human beings question their life choices. “Five left, don’t cut, crest, caution!” In rallying, even the vocabulary sounds like a warning from somebody who knows what is about to happen.

Crown Beverages Trade Marketing Manager Johnson Ssebugwawo said the partnership goes beyond simply putting a brand on a rally car. He described motorsport as the starting point for a wider ambition to identify, support and promote local talent. “This is just the beginning. Motorsport is our starting point as we look at how we can support and promote talent,” Ssebugwawo said.

The partnership is currently expected to run until the end of the 2026 season, although Daudi is hopeful that the relationship will continue into 2027.

For Sting, the move places the energy drink brand directly in the heart of Uganda’s fast-growing motorsport scene, where speed, adrenaline and youthful energy come together. For Daudi, it presents an opportunity to raise his game at a time when every kilometre, every stage and every second on the stopwatch could prove decisive.

With four rounds left, the message from the Daudi camp is simple: the talking is over.

Now comes the hard part.

The tyres will have to do the talking, the engine will have to sing, and Daudi will have to deliver the results.

So as this new chapter accelerates, one truth stands out Sting is not just a sponsor; it is the ignition behind the charge. To every fan standing behind Umar Daudi, waving flags, believing in every split second, you are not just watching a driver you are part of a movement fueled by energy, passion, and belief. With every surge, every roar, and every heartbeat on the stage, Sting is there powering the journey, lifting the spirit, and pushing Daudi closer to greatness.
