UMMA Mourns the Loss of a Dedicated Member, Nsubuga Ibrahim

The Uganda Motorsports Martials Association (UMMA) is in deep sorrow following the untimely death of one of its most dedicated and cherished members, Nsubuga Ibrahim. The tragic news broke yesterday evening, at 7pm, leaving the motorsports community heartbroken.
Nsubuga, who had been an active member of UMMA since 2012, was not just a marshal, but a cornerstone of the association. His unwavering commitment to the sport, his humility, and his kindness have made him a beloved figure within the community. Throughout his journey with UMMA, Nsubuga became known for his hard work, respect for everyone, and his passionate love for motorsports in every category. Whether it was rallying or any other motorsport discipline, Nsubuga’s presence was always felt, his enthusiasm infectious, and his dedication unparalleled.
Residing in Mukono, Nsubuga was a passionate ambassador for motorsports in his hometown. He was carefully groomed by UMMA to help spread the gospel of motorsport in the area, encouraging more people to embrace the sport and love it as much as he did. His work was vital in nurturing the love of motorsports among the people of Mukono, and his efforts have left an indelible mark on the community.
Just a few months ago, Nsubuga played a key role in the EMC Moil Kyabazinga Rally held in Jinja, where he marshaled the event with the same energy and passion that defined his entire career. He was also present at UMMA’s Annual General Assembly on Sunday, December 8, 2024, where his peers last saw him, further solidifying his role as a committed member of the association.
Those who knew Nsubuga describe him as not just a colleague, but a friend. His social nature, humility, and willingness to help others made him a well-respected and beloved individual among his peers. His sudden departure has left a void in the hearts of many within UMMA and beyond.
Today, Nsubuga will be laid to rest at his ancestral burial ground in Kasawo Kasiso, at a village called Magwa, where his family and close friends will gather at 4 pm to bid him a final farewell. His legacy in the motorsport world will never be forgotten, and his memory will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to work alongside him.
As the motorsports community grapples with this tragic loss, our thoughts and prayers are with Nsubuga’s family, friends, and all who knew him. His contributions to motorsport, his character, and the love he shared for the sport will live on forever in the hearts of all who were touched by his kindness and dedication.
