A Formidable Uganda Team Ready to Take on Huye Rally Rwanda 2024

Huye, Rwanda – A formidable team of seven crews from Uganda is gearing up to take on the Huye Rally Rwanda 2024, scheduled from June 14th to 16th. This highly anticipated event, set in the scenic locale of Huye Butare, will challenge participants with a total distance of 350.50 kilometers, including 163.60 kilometers of competitive stages and 186.90 kilometers of liaison stages.
Nasser Mutebi and Steven Bunya will be in the mix to spice up the event
Covering a total distance of 350.50 kilometers, the rally includes 163.60 kilometers of competitive stages and 186.90 kilometers of liaison stages. The marathon stage in Gisagara, a beast of a course at 39.08 kilometers (repeated twice), is bound to test even the best. The shortest stage, Kibirizi, at 7.50 kilometers, will be a mere warm-up. Four night stages will add a dash of night madness to the mix because, let’s face it, who doesn’t want to drive like a bat out of hell in the dark?
Equity bank sponsored Dr Moustapha Mukasa will also be in the hunt after last years disappointing performance in the same event.
Representing Uganda, the team is composed of some of the country’s top rally drivers and co-drivers. Leading the charge are Joshua Muwanguzi and Hamza Lwanga in a Subaru Impreza N12. They are joined by Dr. Moustapha Mukasa and Mwambazi Lawrence in a Mitsubishi Evo 9, Nasser Mutebi and Steven Bunya in another Mitsubishi Evo 9, and Fred Busulwa and Joseph Bongole in a Subaru Impreza N14. Additionally, Didas Matsiko and Alfred Mutanda will drive a Subaru Impreza WRX, while Mohammed Bwette and Yusuf Babu will also be competing in a Mitsubishi Evo 9. The latest entrants from Uganda, Unnisan Bakunda and Yusuf Bukenya, will complete the lineup in yet another Mitsubishi Evo 9.
Fred Busulwa and Joseph Bongole will be on familiar ground
On the home front, Rwanda’s rally enthusiasts will not be disappointed, as several local crews are set to compete. Among them, Giancarlo Davite and Sandrine Iseja will navigate their Evo X through the challenging stages.Lady driver Queen Kalimpinya and Olivier Ngabo will be in the subaru impreza GC8. Christian Kanangire, guided by Kevin Mujiji in their Subaru Impreza N12, and Gakwaya Jean Claude with Mugabo Jean Claude in their Subaru N10, are also in the mix. Yoto Fabrice will be cruising in a Subaru GC8, and Mike Rutuku will also be in his Subaru impreza GC8 and not forgetting Mitraros Eleftor and Paulo Peganin will add to the competitive spirit of the event.
The only female driver Kalimpinya Queen will be in action to give the boys a run for their money.
The Huye Rally Rwanda 2024 is shaping up to be a thrilling competition, bringing together top talent from Uganda and Rwanda.
