A Sneak Preview Into The UMOSPOC Kabalega Hoima Rally Routes
By Mwambazi Lawrence
The 7th and final round of the 2025 Uganda National Rally Championship blasts off this weekend! The legendary UMOSPOC Kabalega Rally is scheduled for 22nd–23rd November 2025, and trust me its going to be action packed all the way.
The rally will begin on Friday 21st with scrutineering at Stabex petro station Hoima where drivers will smile confidently while praying silently that their cars pass. Later, the ceremonial start will take place at Eco Mica resort,
Day 1 kicks off on Saturday morning with two blisteringly fast competitive sections before crews face the fan-favourite Super Special Stage at Kontik Hotel, the place where speed, mud, excitement, and catastrophic driver decisions come together. Day 2 will then unleash four intense stages, including the crucial Power Stage, where bonus points and national pride are at stake. Now, let’s take a deep dive into what each route has prepared for us.
CS1: John Kakoge – 18.40 km
This stage starts on Kampala Road and ends on Masindi Road, opening with a long, smooth, deceptively friendly stretch. Drivers will blast through feeling like heroes… until the road suddenly narrows into village paths.

If it rains, expect chaos. The middle section becomes slippery enough to make even seasoned drivers shout at their co-drivers in languages they didn’t know they spoke. The final long stretch to the finish will be a thrilling flat-out run, perfect for fans and terrifying for anyone in the navigator’s seat.
This stage is only done once we assume for safety and emotional recovery reasons.
CS2 & CS3: Summa Stadium – 23.10 km (The Longest Stage)
Starting right at the impressive new Hoima Stadium, this is the rally’s longest route and a nostalgic one for drivers who competed here in 2016 and 2017. Those who remember it know one thing: the stage is fast, exciting, and absolutely unforgiving.

Packed with hidden hazards, sneaky crests, deceptive downhills, and corners that can send you home early if you mishear a single note, this section demands perfection. The middle section may turn slippery if it rains, but there’s a 9 km high-speed stretch where crews can regain lost confidence, time, or sanity. The stage ends at Mika Eco Resort. This stage will run twice and will be the opening challenge for CRC competitors.
Super Special Stage – 1.80 km (Kontik Hotel)
The head-to-head showdown returns to Kontik Hotel! Fans love this stage because the action is close, intense, and unpredictable. Drivers, however, might disagree.
On a dry day: enormous fun.
On a wet day: the road becomes slipperier than a politician during campaign season.
Black soil and grass combine to create conditions where cars don’t just drift they glide. Crews will switch lanes four times, giving spectators plenty to scream about. After this, cars head into overnight Parc Fermé at Kontik Hotel.

Day 2 is where the rally will be decided. Four stages, one repeated as the Power Stage, all along the Kakumiro and Kyenjojo road networks.
CS6: John Tibenda – 15.70 km
This fast, wide, sweeping stage starts from Kakumiro Road and ends near the service park at Kyenjojo road. The road is wide enough to tempt drivers into going flat-out, but don’t be fooled small trenches hide everywhere, ready to ruin a suspension or someone’s weekend plans.

The final run to the finish features a flat jump right before the flying finish, guaranteed to thrill fans and frighten navigators who don’t like unexpected airtime. This stage will be done once, allowing drivers to breathe afterward.
CS7: Kyamasuka – 22.80 km (The Beast of the Rally)
This is the monster of Hoima long, demanding, and beautifully chaotic. The stage starts smooth and twisty before diving into narrow bush sections full of ditches, trenches, and surprises designed to test bravery and co-driver accuracy.

If ever there was a stage where a co-driver must be 100% on point, it’s this one. One missed note, and you’ll immediately know that bad decisions have consequences. Drivers like Ponsiano Lwakataka men who fear nothing will thrive here. Should it rain and one crew gets stuck in the narrow bit? Just know the rest of the world will also get stuck, plus their hopes and dreams.
CS8: Lugose – 12.80 km (Power Stage)
Short, fast, and brutally demanding, Lugose is the ultimate test for anyone hoping to grab those precious power stage points. Drivers with confidence will go flat-out; drivers with fear will go home early. Packed with fast jumps, flowing sections, and a rough finish filled with trenches and hidden surprises, this is the ultimate showdown. Expect drivers to squeeze every last horsepower from their engines like they are wringing water from a stone.
By the time the dust settles and Hoima regains visibility, the 2025 National Rally Champions will be crowned. The excitement, the chaos the heartbreak Hoima will serve it all.
