Pearl Rally or Border War? Kenya Sends Its Fastest Diplomats To The Pearl Of Africa Rally 2025

By Mwambazi Lawrence,

Fellow countrymen, ladies and gentlemen, whether you’re a diehard NRM supporter, a loyal foot soldier of NUP, or a seasoned FDC flag waver please pause your political banter because what is coming for us is NOT human. I repeat, NOT HUMAN. This is bigger than the Kawempe by-election, bigger than the Museveni handshake line-up at Kololo, even bigger than Bobi Wine’s red beret budget! We are under attack not by air, not by land THIS is a mechanized invasion from the East. And it doesn’t need a visa.

Yes, the Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally 2025, scheduled for May 9th to 11th, is about to turn into a motorized border skirmish, and guess who’s leading the invasion? Our noisy but annoyingly fast neighbours Kenya! They’re bringing fire-spitting machines, rev-happy monsters, and drivers whose right feet are allergic to brakes. They’ve confirmed five crews so far. Now, leading the latest batch of fuel-sniffing gladiators is one Sameer Nanji, partnered with his loyal navigator Pala Suraj, driving a Subaru Impreza N10 a car that probably recites the Kenyan national anthem every time you turn the key

Now, let me tell you about this Nanji guy. He’s not your average rally driver who only shows up when there’s free nyama choma and media attention. Sameer made his debut in the Kenya National Rally Championship (KNRC) in 2021, and let’s just say, since then, he’s been treating rally stages like his in-laws’ compound no mercy, full speed, no fear.i

He has consistently delivered strong performances in multiple events and is now eyeing the Shell V-Power Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally 2025 like a hungry lion at a vegetarian wedding. And guess what? He’s not coming to sightsee the River Nile or taste our Rolex. He’s here to stomp Kenyan authority on Ugandan soil, and he’s doing it under the National Category, which is just a polite way of saying, “I’m not here for your local jokes I came for blood, trophies”

So far, the confirmed Kenyan invasion party includes:

  1. Karan Patel/ Tauseef Khan- Skoda Fabia R5
  2. Jasmeet Chana/ Ravi Chana – Ford Fiesta R5
  3. Samman Vohra/ Alfir Khan- Skoda Fabia R5
  4. Hamza Anwar/ Adinan Din – Mitsubishi EvoX
  5. Sameer Nanji-/ Pala Suraj- Subaru Impreza N10

Ladies and gents, this is shaping up to be less of a rally and more of a turbocharged diplomatic crisis. And as Uganda, we must respond not with long speeches and parliamentary debates, but with grip, gears, and guts!

Stay tuned as we bring you all the confusion, turbocharged tension, and rally rivalry leading up to POAUR 2025. And remember: This May, it’s not about politics it’s about horsepower!
