SMC Challenge Rally Kicks Off Amidst Excitement and Anticipation

Kasangati, April 2, 2024 — Today marked the official launch of the much-anticipated SMC Challenge Rally at the esteemed Great Habib Wellness Resort in Kasangati. As the second round of the National Rally Championship, this event promises to be a riveting spectacle for both participants and spectators alike. Scheduled to run from the 12th to the 14th of April 2024, the rally will traverse the scenic landscapes of Masaka, Lwengo, Kyotera, and Sembabule districts, offering drivers and fans an exhilarating experience.
The Clerk of Course (C.O.C),Shafiq Matovu, unveiled the details of this year’s rally with great enthusiasm. Matovu disclosed that the rally would cover a total distance of 269.52 kilometers, with 127.58 kilometers designated as competitive stages, while 141.94 kilometers would be liaison routes. This meticulous planning ensures a balanced mix of thrilling competition and scenic drives through some of Uganda’s most picturesque locales.
Day one of the rally is set to commence with drivers tackling two sections, culminating in a super special stage at E-Villas in Kalisizo. This opening day promises an electrifying start, setting the stage for the intense competition to follow. However, it is day two that holds the promise of a truly spectacular experience for both drivers and spectators alike. With four challenging stages lined up, in addition to a power stage, day two is anticipated to be the highlight of the event.
Hajji Ibrahim Kiseka, the Event Manager, expressed his optimism and excitement about the rally, assuring participants and fans of an unforgettable experience. Kiseka emphasized that this year’s SMC Challenge Rally would offer drivers the ultimate test of skill and endurance, while also providing fans with unparalleled entertainment and excitement.
